GREENVILLE, Ill.-- Five Greenville College Softball players were awarded the title of 2012 Division III NFCA All-America Scholar Athletes; Rachel Brewer, Mattie Fairchild, Darci Sample, Lindsey Shuberth, and Reanna Weidner.
All five of the women had impressive academic performance in the 2011-2012 season and were able to balance their time between athletics and academics.
The award is given to any player who achieved a 3.50 grade point average or higher during the 2011-12 academic year. The team's coaches then submit the names of their players who qualify for the award.
GC was one of over 600 academic institutions represented by the thousands of students who received accolades. The student-athletes were from various NCAA, NAIA, NJCAA, and high received.
