Women's Basketball Falls Short in Comeback Effort

GREENVILLE, Ill. --  The Greenville College women's basketball team suffered a heart-breaking loss by a score of 70-69 against Robert Morris-Springfield.  Greenville was led in scoring by Laura Hobbie who scored 21 points.

The Robert Morris-Springfield Eagles took a 37-26 lead into halftime and were able to hang on in the closing minutes of the game to preserve the win.

Coley Baker was the leading rebounder for the panthers with 9 boards. Ieisha Adams was a major contributor for GC as well, with 11 points, 10 assists, 6 rebounds, 2 steals, and 2 blocks. Emily Gundy also added 10 points, 6 rebounds, 4 steals, and 2 assist for the Panthers.

The Eagles were led in scoring and rebounding  by Cassandra Baker who posted 13 points and six rebounds.  April Christie and Traci Osby also had solid performances  contributing 12 points each. 

With the loss, Greenville fell to 6-3 on the season.  Robert Morris-Springfield moved to 5-3 with the win.
