Indoor Men's Track and Field Posts Pair of Fourth Place Marks at Eastern Illinois

CHARLESTON, Ill. -- Weight throw partiipant Josh Kuusisto and sprinter Ryan St. Hill were members of the men's track and field to place fourth at the Eastern Illinois John Craft Invitational on Saturday.

Kuusisto tossed the weight 16.79 meters (55-1) in his fourth place performance.

Ryan St. Hill was third among the field in the 60-meter dash preliminaries as he posted a time of 7.12 seconds.  He returned in the finals to finish in 7.14 seconds and place fourth overall.

Adding sixth place marks for Greenville were Bobby Williams in the long jump (6.11 meters, 20-0.50) and Anthony Everett in the 60-meter hurdles (8.93 seconds).

Vernon Gee leapt 6.03 meters (19-9.50) in his seventh place long jump effort.

The men's track and field team returns to action Saturday at Olivet Nazarene.

GC Football Beats Northwestern with Fourth Quarter Comeback

ST. PAUL, Minn-- The Greenville College Football team overcame a 13-16 deficit at the start of the fourth quarter to win their last regular season game 27-16 over Northwestern.

Immanuel Gamble led GC in rushing yards, gaining 82 and Steven Glover was not far behind with 71 yards for the Panthers. Nathan Butler also helped the Greenville offense with 79 reception yards. Brendan Chambers had 162 passing yards in the game.

Defensively, GC was led by Cody Lopez who had 15 tackles and 0.5 sacks. Bryce Wright and Robert Deering also had an impressive 11 tackles each.

Northwestern was first to get on the scoreboard with Chris Simon-Wallace scoring a touchdown off a pass from Josh Balzer and Ethan Zepp kicked a 20 yard field goal. Greenville ended the first half with an 18 yard pass from Chambers to Shawn McKnight. The game's score was 7-10 Northwestern at halftime.

In the third quarter, Matt Dammann caught a 1 yard pass from Balzer to get the Wildcats another touchdown. GC answered with a 1 run from Gamble to bring the score to 13-16 heading into the fourth quarter.

Greenville dominated the quarter with two unanswered touchdowns, one 9 yard run from Gamble and an 11 yard catch from Chambers to Cody Hutchin to bring the game to it's final score of 27-16 GC.

Greenville ends their regular season with a record of 7-2. This brings the UMAC to a 3-way tie for first place in the Conference. The Panthers are awaiting to hear what their post-season will look like.
